5 DAYS MOUNT KENIA ICE CLIMB (SIRIMON ROUTE)

Ice climbing is one of the world’s most exciting and challenging sports. One of the all time great ice climbs is found on the Mount Kenia, a technical climb that offers a great memory the summit of Africa second highest peak.

1: DAY NAIROBI – NANYUKI

Leave Nairobi accompanied by our guide for lunch in Nanyuki.Spend the remaining part of the day acclimatizing due to a Nanyuki hotel.

DAY 2: NANYUKI OLD MOSES

Transfer from your Nanyuki hotel after breakfast to the Sirimon gate where climbing starts. Walk through the rainforest for 9km (shows walk) to the first mountain hut old Moses (3300m) for dinner and overnight.

DAY 3: OLD MOSES – SHIPTON CAMP

After break first at old Moses, continue climbing through Mackinders valley to the second hut shipton hut (4200m) for dinner and overnight.

DAY 4: SHIPTON HUT – POINT LENANA – OLD MOSES

Early in the morning climb to Point Lenana 4985m (17058ft) on a clear day. See Mount Kilimanjaro to the south, Mount Elgon to the west and Indian Ocean to the East. Descent to shipton for break first and then Old Moses for the night.

DAY 5: OLD MOSES – NAIROBI

After breakfirst, transfer from old Moses to catch transport to Nairobi arriving in the afternoon.
