PRIVATE JEEP SAFARI

The Safari – which means travel in Swahili – usually means a ramble with an open-roofed bus or jeep on the immerse savannahs among wild animals.

Home » SAFARI » PRIVATE JEEP SAFARI

We go by a Toyota Land Cruiser jeep specially reconditioned for Safaris transporting 2-5 adults and 1-2 children comfortably. In case of more participants we go by more cars in a convoy. The roof is openable so the passengers can stand up taking pictures and admiring the wild animals. The Safari is private so you do not have to travel with other tourists.

There is a “cooler box” in the car, so you can drink unrestricted amount of cold mineral water.

Participants: 2-5 adults + 1-2 children / car

It worth bringing: swimming suit, trainers, a hat or a cap, camera, binoculars, sunglasses, suntan lotion, spray against mosquitoes, long-sleeved shirt for the evenings and a lot of high spirits.

The price of the Safari depends on the date of the journey and the number of participants. Ask for offer!

AFTERNOON SAFARI IN SHIMBA HILLS

The Shimba Hills National Park is only 50 kilometers from Diani. Here is the Sheldrick Falls which is fed by the last rainforest of Kenya. It can be approached with a two kilometers long walk through the jungle where guards with weapons accompany the visitors. We suggest this for those who spend shorter time here in the country or do not want to participate on a longer tour because of their children. The Safari is private so you do not have to travel with other tourists.

After lunch, we meet at the reception at 12.30. A.M. and leaving for Shimba Hills which is the last tropical rainforest of Kenya, famous for that it is rich in bird and butterfly species and different kinds of trees. It is the only place where you can find sable antelopes. There are only two places where you can see forest elephants. Shimba Hills is one of them. Shimba Hills will not be approached through a main road but a “local road”. It has to be taken into account that it is a bumpy road. At the entrance, a guard with weapon will join us to be our companion when visiting the waterfall. While driving to the waterfall, we can watch wild animals. After arriving to the path, leaving for the two kilometers long exciting walking tour. We suggest trainers for the walk but swimming suits and mineral water are also necessary. After swimming and walking, animal stalk begins. Leaving the National Park at around 6 P.M., our way continues for the “secret place” through a local village where dagos live. This “secret place” is 600 meters above the sea level. The view is wonderful: we can see the ocean and the rivers flowing beneath us. Then we will sit on the hill watching the sunset with a bottle of champagne. Later we go back to the coast and the hotel. Probable arrival: at 8 P.M.

The service contains:

  • the private jeep Safari
  • the park tickets
  • unrestricted amount of cold mineral water during the Safari
  • one bottle of champagne in the wild
